Binary package hint: cupsys
Just a driver request. Add more drivers to the default Ubuntu install for printers. Brother ones in particular as they provide them now for Linux for most of their printers. MC-210c is the one I use and the Brother drivers did work even though it was a horrendous pain installing them and getting things to work - their instructions are a bit weak so if the model existed in the driver pick list life would be so much easier.
