Bug Description

to reproduce:
open inkscape,
press shift-ctrl-f or klick "fill and stroke" form the dialogs menu

run from the commandline i get this error:

The program 'inkscape' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 11786 error_code 2 request_code 58 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Upstream have a bug report about this saying:
"This is a known problem caused by the fact that you run 0.39
before. 0.38 is not compatible with 0.39 preferences file.
Remove your ~/.inkscape/preferences.xml and it will work."

Have you runned 0.39 before ? If yes could you move ~/.inkscape/preferences.xml
somewhere else and test again ?
