Bug Description
Kubuntu installer crashed. Details which were unusual about this particular install:
-- Used Kubuntu 11.10_Live 32-bit image
-- Used unetbootin to prepare USB drive, with a 2.7GB persistent file store
-- Finally, installation target was a single 4GB ext4 partition on a different USB drive. No swap space allocated.
Crash occurred after installation questions had been asked, i.e., during the "real" install part.

I tried performing the same process with a completely different computer (Core i7 desktop as opposed to 5-year old laptop), and the installer crashed again. This would tend to suggest that the bug is probably not due to a hardware fault.
