Nanny 2.31.1-0ubuntu4 @LinuxMint 12 wouldn't run

Mint Version 12 (lisa)

I installed nanny using synaptics.

Then I started "Anwendungen - Sonstige - Elternkontrolle" (which is 'gksudo nanny-admin-console'), got asked for my password and then ... nothing.

when starting nanny-admin-console from a console I got

Syslog tells me:
nanny-admin-console: Booting nanny admin console

I can start and use mintnanny, but that's only half of it.

I don't need all the bells and whistles from Gnome3 just things that worked on a system before.

Any hints?

I get the same error on Ubuntu 12.04, except that there's a third error message on console:
