gpodder no longer able to open media files

Bug Description

during an update recently, gpodder lost the ability to open media files. Now it opens a nautilus folder pointing at the item in question - definitely not as useful. (especially if you're queuing for a 12 hour drive)

A tangent:
Also, there is no way to mark a podcast as 'viewed/listened to'. That would be quite handy!

while it seems a bit nicer (doesn't seem as aggressive about updating, for instance. I'd rather that be only manual, do to controlling space usage on a small hard drive) - it does NOT fix this problem.

Ah but the "played" option is the other item I asked about - yay :)
