xserver can't load 'wfb module error' after feisty install.

Bug Description

I upgraded from Edgy Eft to Feisty Herd 5, and X crashed. It says my Nvidia kernel did not match the one in the kernel. I had to install the latest Nvidia Driver from nvidia.com to fix this, and it worked fine afterwards.

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Brian,

I used updated-manager -c -d in the terminal to upgrade.

Thanks,
Ben

Could you check and see if the linux-restricted kernel modules are installed? Thanks again.

Yes, linux-restricted is installed. I'm not sure if I mentioned this but
I was just mentioning the bug and I have also provided HOW i was about
to fix it on my machine. It looks like the nvidia-kernel that is being
downloaded from the aptitude isn't the latest kernel, even though it
says it is, but I'm not sure. How I fixed it was by downloading the
latest nvidia drivers from nvidia.com and the X worked perfectly fine
after I installed it.

Thanks,
Ben

This same bug was reported again in Bug #103050 . This looks like facing anyone who winds up using the nvidia-glx-new driver...
