Bug Description

Posting this bug as requested here: https://answers.launchpad.net/alarm-clock/+question/182377

Whenever alarms are stopped there's a notification that it has been stop, which is redudant.

There's the notification when the alarm sounds. That's the whole point of an alarm, but the notification for the stop alarm action is superfluous and just clutters the notifications in Gnome 3.

IMO the stopped alarm notifications should be removed or at least an option to disable them should be added.

[Test Case]
1. Create a new timer in the alarm-clock-applet Alarms window.
2. Start the timer if not started already.
3. Wait until the timer rings -- a notification should appear.
4. Click on the alarm-clock-applet icon and choose "Stop all alarms".
5. Observe whether a notification that the alarms have been stopped is issued (it shouldn't be).

For someone with an old laptop with blown speakers, the notification is just as good as the alarm sound =)

Although i disagree with removing the notification, i agree there should be an option to enable/disable it.

I wasn't complaining about the alarm notification per se.

I was referring to the notification that the alarm has been stopped which I find somewhat redundant, depending on whether you miss the alarm notification or not.

Hmm, I remember there used to be notifications whenever an alarm was stopped, but I believe these were removed in the later versions. Which version of Alarm Clock are you running? Have you tried the latest one: 0.3.2?

Ah you're right. When alarms are stopped or snoozed from the status icon context menu, a notification will appear. I guess those notifications should be removed.

This bug is missing information detailed in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure for it to comply with Stable Release Updates process. Please add a test case for recreating and the regression potential. Once this information is added to all the bugs addressed by the package in -proposed we will approve the upload. Thanks!

I've rejected this from the precise-proposed queue; changing the debhelper compat level is not a minimal change, and is not appropriate for an SRU.

The rest of the changes look good, however. Feel free to re-upload a package without that change.
