Default soundcard

There is no way to set soundcard as default, it's very annoying. In Windows is simple functionality like when I set my USB soundcard as default and hook it up it automatically switches all sound source to it, including sound control.

Can you elaborate ? I don't know what you mean by 'contact upstream' ?

Ubuntu 11.04 (natty) reached end-of-life on October 28, 2012.
