Bug Description

There is a bug in the openjdk and/or the plugin for the browser that makes the Juniper VPN access (java based) not work on
Ubuntu. There is a patch available for Fedora, see the following URLS:

* https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=586194
* http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/distro-pkg-dev/2011-December/016438.html

Can this be applied to Ubuntu's version?

Bug #909525 notes that a patch to icedtea-web has been submitted and was accepted upstream:
http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/distro-pkg-dev/2011-December/016562.html
http://icedtea.classpath.org/hg/release/icedtea-web-1.1/rev/cdd0bbf399e8

Have added icedtea-web package to the "affects" list, since the problem might not be with openjdk-6 itself.

Still broken in my precise. I issued a "sudo rm -rf ~/.juniper_networks" and let Juniper Networks repopulate. No joy. I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem. If it's relevant, I'm using:

Kevin - it is now working for me on a fresh i386 install of 12.04 using the same packages you list. In 11.10 it would only work using the Sun JDK and plugin. On 12.04 amd64, I have to install the i386 packages for Firefox and Java, but then it works. This is a known issue with the VPN client and not (I believe) fixable by Ubuntu.

If you are still having problems and you are already using i386 packages, then I think you are probably suffering from a different bug. But I don't have any suggestions of how to diagnose further.
