Bug Description

The bookmarks and address bar doesn't render correctly when I'm using xserver-xorg-video-radeon, but it renders correctly with AMD's proprietary drivers. I've attached a picture to show one of the problems; it's always present. Other problems include text in entry areas (like the address bar) being rendered illegibly, and the whole chrome window being garbled after waking up from sleep (but this can be fixed by changing to another tab).

I realize this could be a problem with chrome, but I thought I'd post it here first.

Thanks for your bug report. This may be a chrome problem, but I'll leave that determination up to someone more informed. Could you please run "apport-collect 906107" in a terminal, though? That will attach some relevant system information to this report. Also, please post the version of chrome that you're running.

Thanks for running apport. I'm not familiar with debugging this type of problem, but hopefully there's enough information here now for someone who does.

Here are some more pictures of rendering problems. Not that they are not confined to chrome; they show up in the kde launcher and ksnapshot as well. I've only seen these problems if chrome is running, but then again I almost always have it running.

Leon Maurer, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.
