Search in 'exposition mode' begin too early

I'm in Mint12.

When I'm in exposition mode, searching an appplication, search begin just after I enter one letter, freezing my computer (or close to). The search should wait few seconds before beginning search, just to avoid this freeze (cause : too many applications with my 'only' letter), just the time to enter the second or the third letter of my search, avoiding the freeze consecutive to a search with only one letter.

May be it's a gnome shell problem, but if you could solve this, it would be great.

Increase the time before the search begin could be usefull.
