Bug Description

The sooner this gets implemented, the better. It's the biggest headache of using ANY operating system. We need to come as close to files "just play" as we can get. While maintaining extreme legality; to the point it makes the inclusion of Audience in the distro a nonissue legally.

Totem has a bug related to this; it installs codecs but doesn't restart neither itself nor gstreamer, so it reports "Required codecs successfully installed" and then throws nasty errors when I click "Play". Audience should restart itself to apply codec changes and start playing the file specified on previous run (probably just exec() or system() yourself and pass the argv)

It's VERY important that at the very end of the process /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh is executed or DVD playback will still not work.

I hope everything will work fine, I copied most of it from beatbox, so I guess it will :)
