Cannot select and copy text in a postscript file

Bug Description

I cannot select and copy text from a text postscript file. One of the files that I have used to test:

    http://www.isle.org/~langley/papers/adapt.um99.ps

With pdfs, select text + copy is working fine.

After converting this ps file to pdf using ps2pdf, I can select and copy the text when opening the converted pdf file in evince. But not from the original ps file.

I was able to reproduce this bug in Oneiric 11.10, evince 3.2.1-0ubuntu2.2

I tested with Precise, 12.04, and was also able to recreate the bug.
