Bug Description

Hi

Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10
unity:
  Installed: 4.24.0-0ubuntu2b1
  Candidate: 4.24.0-0ubuntu2b1
  Version table:
 *** 4.24.0-0ubuntu2b1 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     4.22.0-0ubuntu3 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages

What happened:
- When using the 'grid' to automatically align windows they overlap onto other workspaces.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Move to a workspace on the left side
2) Open two terminal windows
3) Drag one to the left side so that the 'grid' automatically resizes it to the left side, do this same with the second terminal but to the right side.
4) Show the workspace switcher, notice that the right terminal overlaps onto the workspace to the right.
5) Change to the workspace to the right of the two terminals. Notice that the right terminal can be seen down the left edge, also because a window is there it causes the unity launcher to disappear!

What should happen:
- The windows should remain in their workspace and therefore not cause the unity launcher to hide.

NOTE: this is for all windows and terminal has just been used as an example.

Attached:
- Image of workspace switcher with right terminal overlapping the bottom right workspace
- Image from the bottom right workspace showing that the unity launcher becomes hidden

Hope this bug can be fixed soon.

Andy

I'm unable to reproduce this behaviour in 15.10, so I think this bug has been fixed. Would someone please confirm whether or not this is still happening in 12.04?
