Bug Description

Laptop is blank, external works fine in Unity. I have no problems configuring the monitors using systemsettings in KDE, systemsettings fails however when trying to configure the monitors in Unity, and I have to revert to what I'm stuck with. And of course, I've tried playing with the default display manager in Ubuntu. Help please!

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/700757 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/745112

might be related.

I am using x86_64, my laptop is an ideapad b570, and my external monitor is an older syncmaster that I've used with several distros previously.

There's a button the laptop which toggles external monitors, touching one or two times enables both monitors, but I am unable to use the maximum resolution of the external syncmaster, like I am able to in KDE.

Well... that was working until I logged out and logged back in. Now it will only use one screen, I might have to keep playing with it for weeks..

It's not a driver bug for sure.
