Bug Description

In the Kubuntu, there is no easy way to quickly check which Ubuntu version you are running.

You can find the KDE version by opening any program and looking under Help -> About KDE, and it tells you everything you want to know (About KDE). If you haven't upgraded in a while, or have lost track of which version you are using you must use command-line to check the Ubuntu version!

A fix would be to add a tab to the standard KDE dialog, or even just another line of text, with the Ubuntu version, codename, and release date (for the current point release). Adding the Ubuntu version to Kinfocenter would also be a positive step.

The simplest fix for this would be to add the Ubuntu version number to Kinfocenter as the OP suggests. I've replaced the KDE Base task with kde-workspace since that is what Kinfocenter is a part of.

I agree having it show up in Kinfocenter makes the most sense to me. That way, all relevant information is right there on KIF's summary screen.

Simplest, but also the most terrible given that KIC in general is terrible from a user perspective :S
