Bug Description

lfaraone wrote:
I was attempting to review https://myapps.developer.ubuntu.com/dev/apps/192/

When I went to hit the download link of https://myapps.developer.ubuntu.com/site_media/packages/2011/09/UnicodeRewriter-Installer-01.jar , I was redirected a few times and eventually to a page with the title "OpenID Authentication Required" and the text "The server reported an error".

I logged out and logged in to MyApps and still could not download the application.

I'm using Chromium 14.0.835.202 (Developer Build 103287 Linux) Ubuntu 11.10.

Note: This was originally reported by lfaraone as bug 886366 - although the issue for Luke and other ARB reviewers will be fixed by that bug, jpugh experiences something similar for commercial applications which needs to be investigated. See jpugh's comments on bug 886366 for more info.

This is rather consistent for me. I can usually get this error or one similar at nearly every download

Authorization is required to access https://myapps.developer.ubuntu.com/site_media/packages/openid/
Either you have not been granted access to this resource or your entitlement has timed out. Please try again.
You are currently logged in as https://login.ubuntu.com/+id/xeJFf4B. (logout)

Downloads seem to work fine in FireFox and I can eventually retrieve the file using Chrome if I'm patient.

Marking as "Won't Fix" because there's no "Fixed Itself" status.

The problem went away by itself. From the debugging sessions it was a problem in the apache-openid which guards the downloads area. Why it fixed itself is a bit of a mystery, only thing which did change was a rollout of devportal. Maybe some cache got cleared?
