Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdebi
gdebi 0.1.6ubuntu1, Ubuntu 6.10
When gdebi has finished installing a package, the "Status:" text for the package changes from "All dependencies are satisfied" to "Error: conflicts with the installed package 'name-of-package'". This is pretty misleading: it could lead people to think that the package hasn't been installed when it actually has.
Instead the status text should perhaps be one of these:
* "Successfully installed" (if installed in the current gdebi session)
* "Already installed" (if installed in a previous gdebi session)
* "Newer version already installed" (with "Downgrade Package" and a confirmation alert, instead of "Install Package")
* "Older version currently installed" (with "Upgrade Package" instead of "Install Package").
I will take a look at this later this evening.
