there is no way to setup proxy settings with authentication like user name and password

Bug Description

1) Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10

2) any version
3) I Expect to be able to set a proxy server with authentication settings like user name and password
4) Not possible

How and why did this happen? It's a fundamental feature of an OS.

Thank you for your bug report, you can enter a "user:password@proxy" in the entry

I tried this and it doesn't work. It might be the issue that I am connecting to a Microsoft proxy server, but others, for example ntlmaps does work. So from my point of view as a user it still doesn't work and is not invalid.

Besides i think entering a password and username is highly unacceptable since this login information might be very sensitive, for example at a workplace.
