Bug Description

Please upgrade allegro to the latest upstream versions.

Latest 4.2 series version: 4.2.3.1

Latest series 4 version: 4.4.2

Latest stable version: 5.0.5

So, Ubuntu and Debian are even out of date as far as 4.2 is concerned. At the very least, we should have allegro4.4 and allegro5.0. Allegro4.4 should be backwards compatible with previous version, while the 5 series is specifically not backwards compatible.

I would think providing in the current development release would be fine. Add to backports, if deemed necessary for stable releases.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.

The good news is that both allegro4.4 [1] and allegro [5] has been packaged and are available in Ubuntu 14.04 and newer releases. As such, I believe this report can be closed.
