The DpkgTerminalLog.txt shows:

newaliases: fatal: /etc/mailname: file has 2 hard links

Could you show the results of

    ls -ld /etc/mailname
    ls -l /etc/mailname

(Note: I've seen this before. If it turns out /etc/mailname is a directory, it will be worth trying to figure out why and how that happened.)
