Bug Description

The Kubuntu Installer for 11.10 on my dmraid device errors out when attempting to install grub2 on one of my computers. In the installation process I specified the correct boot partition, but it appears as if the installer tries to pick /dev/sda which is not the partition that I told the installer to use.

I am using a Raid 0 configuration
I partitioned two 500GB drives for 1TB space
The /boot partition is 200MB and partitioned as EXT4
I am using a Promise XT2200 Raid Card

I have tried installing kubuntu with and without specifying manual partitioning, and as indicated before specified the boot partition for grub installation when doing the manual partitioning options.

Thank you.

Thanks for your bug report. Could you please reproduce the error and attach the installer's log files immediately after receiving the error? Instructions can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs
