pbuild --debug fails with bad argument to dpkg-buildpackage

Bug Description

When invoking pbuild with --debug, it fails with an error in dpkg-buildpackage:

mfisch@caprica:~/Projects/precise-chroot/gnome-nettool-bzr$ pbuild --debug
dpkg-buildpackage: unknown option or argument --set-envvar=DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=debug,nostrip,noopt

What is this "pbuild" command? It doesn't exist in the pbuilder package. My best guess was pdebuild, but 'pdebuild --debug' seems to work fine.

Is this a local script of your own? If so, please post it so that we can see what it's doing.

Sorry this was in a local script, which I will fix. Not sure how or why I thought it was an official pbuilder script.
