LM12-MATE. The menu option System > Preferences > Pop-up Notifications does nothing.

More precisely, it's mate-notification-properties that crashes immediately.

I have the same issue. dmesg states "mate-notificati[8644]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fa41578e5da sp 00007fff52675598 error 4 in libc-2.13.so[7fa415662000+195000]"

I confirm the dmesg line.

I've got the same error when I launch dockmanager-daemon too... is there a problem in libc 2.13 ??
