Bug Description

During updating my precise chroot:

Preparing to replace base-files 6.5ubuntu2 (using .../base-files_6.5ubuntu3_amd64.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement base-files ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/base-files_6.5ubuntu3_amd64.deb (--unpack):
 trying to overwrite '/run', which is also in package initscripts 2.88dsf-13.10ubuntu5
No apport report written because MaxReports is reached already
/var/lib/dpkg/info/base-files.postinst: 106: /var/lib/dpkg/info/base-files.postinst: cannot create /var/run/motd: Too many levels of symbolic links
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/base-files_6.5ubuntu3_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

This only happens inside my precise chroot (which got upgraded from one development release to the next one). Updating base-files on my precise host worked fine.

This is from inside my chroot:
$ ls -l /var/run /run
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Jul 17 19:29 /run -> /var/run
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Nov 20 12:19 /var/run -> /run
