Bug Description

There are two known bugs:

1.When a building is under attack, pick Sell Button and click that building, then it will start to fold and you will get a crew; but if it is destroyed before actually 'sold', you will get the same crew again. Actually you shouldn't get the first crew at all.

2.When MCV Repacks is On, click Sell and then click the conyard, it'll start to fold and you will get a crew; then quickly re-select the conyard(num keys may help) and order it to move, in this case the conyard will undeploy into an MCV instead of being sold. Furthermore, if a soldier of that crew occupies the cell where the MCV is going to be, the MCV won't be spawned but is still considered existing. This is usually used by irresponsible players in online games to cheat because his 'MCV' can never be destroyed thus he will never be defeated.

All those bugs can be fixed simply by prevent crew escaping from a building when it is sold.

I agree these are bugs, but the bug isn't that you get infantry from the sale, its that you can exploit getting infantry from the sale. For 1. it needs fixing so that if its destroyed during a sell anim, you don't get more troops and for 2. it needs fixing so that you can't move a selling mcv to change it into an undeploy.

Both issues are confirmed on YR 1.001 per Renegade's request.

Edit: Issue 2/2 have checked. It's possible in YR 1.001 to survive Short Games without a building this way. Haven't checked if Ares's Mutation fix destroys the MCV as well.

I've un-dupe'd the other one, because this one is about the fact that crew escapes from sold buildings, which can lead to weirdness, whereas the other one (bug #937938) is about the fact that you can gain an (invisible) MCV out of a sold ConYard - something which is mentioned in this bug's description, but only to underline its explanation of the issue it's actually reporting.

In addition, I'm not sure this report isn't invalid anyway - not in terms of the truth of what's being reported, but more its interpretation and intention of those facts: In both cases in the description, the fact that you get crew from selling isn't actually the bug - it's what happens afterwards that creates the unexpected behavior.

The *proper* bug reports would be "destroyed buildings shouldn't generate crew if a building already generated crew from selling beforehand" and "programatically created units should either be spawned correctly or not at all" (plus, of course, the existing report about how that example-MCV is improperly gained).

To underline this once more: The bug here is not the escaping of crew from a sold building. That is perfectly normal game behavior. Whether that's *good* behavior is material for a Blueprint, and can certainly be proposed to be changed, but it's not behaving unexpectedly. The issue is not in the actual escaping of the crew - the issue is the second crew generated at an independent, later time, and the crew's interaction with other game objects.

So yeah...dissecting this in my head, I actually have to say I'm in favor of closing *this* issue, to be replaced by more specific, clearer reports.

Opinions?

Of course now I see that Blade already stated as much, one and a half years ago. xD

Crew will not be ejected twice if a structure is destroyed while being sold. A sell operation cannot be converted to an undeploy any more, thus players can't get vehicle plus crew. The undeployed vehicle is now guaranteed to be placed, or it is removed from the game (not keeping a player alive).

Couldn't reproduce the "ghost MCV" issue, but the crew issue is fixed in 15.299.1385 - the MCV won't appear at all once the Con Yard starts selling.
