Bug Description

My new ZTE MF192+ 3G modem is not working in NetworkManager/ModemManager.

It is found by system, and I can see signal level and mobile operator string. But when I try to connect it says: "Can not connect to GSM network".

There is RH bug report for this problem:

I have found that after entering AT%USBMODEM=0 command, modem switches to pseudo-ethernet mode. And after this it works without any problems.

Still, it is a bug in ModemManager, because the modem won't work "out of the box".

The latest one usb_modeswitch data package release (20120531) partially solves the problem. With it the modem is swithed to pseudo-ethernet device (cdc_ether), and NetworkManager is able to conect.

But there is another problem: ModemManager uses static IP configuration for this modem, but it should use DHCP instead. Without DCHP request the connection is not initiated and no internet server could be reached, though NetworkManager says, the connection is established.
