Bug Description

I was using Unity 2D on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric on my netbook, it's and Acer Aspire One D255 just FYI. When ever I activate the work space switcher by pressing [super button + s] it lags while switching and sometimes gets stuck in between switching desktops.

Thanks for your bug report. I'll package this against metacity so we can get an apport hook, but I'm not exactly sure what handles work space switching in a 2d session. So we can get some detailed system information attached to this report, though, could you please run the following command in a terminal from your unity-2d session:
apport-collect 892958

Also, could you describe the freeze that you sometimes experience? Is it a hard freeze? Will the system respond to keyboard input (ctrl+alt+delete, etc)?

It's not a hard freeze all the time, although sometimes it is and I have to completely restart my system. It will respond if I press the keyboard most of the time. I usually have to press [super button + s] a couple times or some other keyboard input.

Thanks for running apport and describing the freeze. Since its a hard freeze this might need to be packaged against xorg or the kernel, but I'll leave that decision up to someone more familiar with the matter.
