Bug Description

This is similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/806382 but about failures during 'make run' rather than running tests.

If rabbit fails to start, because for example there is a feral rabbit already occupying the port, Launchpad fails to start with no useful information.

allenap and robert suggested a fix in https://code.launchpad.net/~mbp/rabbitfixture/rabbit-startup/+merge/80285

here is the output with an updated version of that fix applied. much more useful imo.
