Bug Description
If a replica connects to a wrong server port, it may hang indefinitely.
This can lead to quite mysterious replication problems: the replica starts, but doesn't get any updates from the master.
Add a replication handshake, and possibly a timeout to establish it (or simply don't start until it's established). If can't handshake, don't fall through into read-events mode.
Or add authentication and merge all ports into one based on authentication data.
