I can also verify this is an issue with Cinnamon 2.4 on Linux Mint 17.1
When the Java tray icon loads it prevent minimise/restore of other apps to the taskbar from working correctly. /docs.oracle. com/javase/ tutorial/ uiswing/ examples/ misc/index. html#TrayIconDe mo) code it also causes the issue.
I originally thought it was my own software (SelekTOR) which was the issue as it uses a heavily modified native Java tray icon but I then replicated the issue using Oracles own recommended TrayIconDemo (https:/
But their is some good news I have just upgraded to the latest Cinnamon 2.6.2 from Romeo and it does not exhibit this issue and all seems to be good at least when tested against TrayIconDemo and SelekTOR.
