Bug Description
1. open a terminal.
2. ssh to machine1.
3. ssh to machine2 from machine1.
see that the screen is now not refreshed properly.
i've even seen this bug when I open vi and only a local part of the screen is refreshed.

Some more notes:
- you don't need to ssh to get this behavior. it is the only way i know of to consistently reproduce the problem, however.
- if you change desktops and come back to the terminal, then the contents appear OK.
