Cheese shows double effects

I've installed Cheese on Lubuntu 11.10 from the repositories. After clicking on 'Effects', Cheese will show all the effects double instead of single. Removing and purging, and then reinstalling Cheese didn't help. I've attached a screenshot so you know what it looks like.

Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) reached end-of-life on May 9, 2013.
