Bug Description

Hallo,

While multitouch works in strange ways, neither LXInput nor gpointing-device-setting allows to enable multitouch-settings (f.e. three-fingered) in Lubuntu 11.10. Especially Tap-dragging and tap-selecting must be done so fast, that it doesnt work in about 95% of occasions. Setting Tap-times has no effect at all. touchegg enables three-fingered multitouch but tap-issues persist.

obconf doubleclick time settings have no effect.

This is a useability-issue, which was not present on 10.10 with lxde added. In Ubuntu 11.10 Standard tap-dragging and -selecting works fine.

Hardware is vanilla Asus eee-pc 1000h with elantech touchpad (shown as ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad in gpointing-device-settings).

Thank you very much.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.
