no HDMI on hybrid graphics

Bug Description

I am following instructions as per http://linux-hybrid-graphics.blogspot.com/2011/08/problems-with-hdmi-in-hybrid-graphics.html
My laptop model is Asus U36JC with NVIDIA GeForce 310m (optimus)

ironhide version 1.0-1~oneiricubuntu39

I am using 11.10 64 bit.

The monitor is not detected by xrandr or by nvidia-settings.

hybrid graphics switching is not supported in ubuntu yet. You need to work with these guys:

  https://launchpad.net/~hybrid-graphics-linux

Probably your hdmi output isn't wired to the intel card, but to the nvidia card. So other than blacklisting the i915 driver there isn't much that can be done.
