Bug Description

If the field of view is wide enough, stars in the vicinity of the sun or moon cannot be selected. The selection will be for the sun or moon.

Similar to the supernova bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/stellarium/+bug/835815

This becomes more apparent when dynamic eye adaptation is turned off.

Hi Alex,

Yes, I tested with the latest build 5499 and the issue remains.

Just for check: do you have dynamic eye adaptation enabled?

Hi Alex,

Sorry for late reply.

Yes, I have dynamic eye adaptation enabled.

At wide field views, you can see stars close to the sun or moon, but when
you click on them, the sun or moon will be selected. It becomes clear on my
system at fov > 80 degrees.

In any case it is a minor issue.

Thanks for keeping Stellarium alive.

Khalid

Khalid, can you reproduce this issue now? I think we already fix it in 0.13.0alphaX.

Hi Alex,
Sorry for the late reply.
I installed latest 0.13.0 test version on my windows 7 system, but I could
not test this issue. It seems that I cannot select any faint star even in
absence of the sun or the moon. For example, at 60 deg FOV stars fainter
than about 4th mag cannot be selected even if they are present on the
display.

Best regards
Khalid
