Mess in Translations - two files instead of one

I have checked if there are some new translations strings in Translations and I see two files for every language. I haven't seen something like this in any of launchpad projects, so it is very likely there is some mess in Translations files (see attached file).

Yeah, that's very odd, and there's only a few languages listed in the "pinta" template.

Why this would be an issue? Many projects in Launchpad have various translation templates listed in its Translation pages. A real "mess" would be to have 30 templates for only a few strings.

I think there was something wrong with import or something. Look at the names there are "po" and "pinta". Most probably there should be "pinta.po" so one file. Maybe there was some space between file name like "pinta po" and so imported like two files or something.

I looked at this strings little bit in detail. There are two files "po" and "pinta" and in "pinta" there are only 4 strings that were already translated by me when there was single file. It looks to me there was some mess when importing translation files into launchpad, it looks to me there should be pinta.po and not "pinta" and "po". Can someone check this out? It would be waste of time and effort for people translating two times because of lose of translation data.

Status of this bug should be set to High.

I have check Translations on Launchpad and I still see two files after clicking on specific language. Don't know if this is intentional, but looks odd to me having "po" file with 372 strings and "pinta" with only 4.

I think it's somehow caused by the Pinta.desktop file being translatable.

It looks translations are working - I get updates in preview. So it would be nice only single file would be used, but since this translations is working we can change importance of this bug to medium or even low. I would like to give priorities of "crash" bugs before this bug.

I tested this again. It looks like in launchpad.net Translations there are still two files, but are correctly updating Pinta. Little bit annoyance to have two files "pinta" and "po".
