Ubuntu icon turns white and the bar doesn't hide

Bug Description
After some time using the system, the ubuntu icon turns white. Then, the bar stops hiding. This is really boring because the bar will hide the left side of the maximized windows.

Hey,
this happens when the Launcher is given keyboard focus, say when you press Alt+F1. However clicking away should cause the focus to go away, and normal operation to resume.
If you hit Alt+F1 and click on another app, does the Launcher hide? You are not using "focus follows mouse" are you? Have you any rough idea what you were doing when this happened first?
