Bug Description

When I've upgraded my ubuntu and got firefox 7.0.1 I've unexpectedly lost the possibility to paste URLs directly into browser window. That possibility is more than very useful as I don't have to do lot of things - exactly to load some URL into current non-empty tab I have to: 1) select URL; 2) press Ctrl+C; 3) click on URL line in browser; 4) select all in there; 5) press Ctrl+V; 6) press 'Enter'. With that possibility it's very-very simple: 1) select URL; 2) middle-click in browser window - yes, that's all. And now I cannot do that because config variable middlemouse.contentLoadURL changed it's default to false (and I think it's ubuntu-specific default, the same version 7.0.1 in debian-testing have it true as it always been) and it's even worse - even when I open about:config and toggle it, it works as it should be but as soon I close firefox and start it again that value is reset to false again and that means I should set it manually each time I start firefox! I've fixed that weird bug by downgrading firefox to version from natty. Fix it back, please!

The bug is still present in 8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.11.10.3 version of package. Fixed it by downgrading to 4.0+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 - that is the newest version that is still works. Will you fix it or not?

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner.

I'm setting this bug to "Incomplete" as it's not seen any activity for some time. If this is still an issue when using a maintained release of Ubuntu then please let us know otherwise this bug report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

(I'm unable to reproduce the issue using Firefox 73 and Ubuntu 18.04)
