updated bios to newest versoin (1.14) and used newest upstream kernel v3.1-oneiric

When I change the resolution to a lower one, e.g. 640+480, the artifacts go away and colors are there again correctly.

Tried the lower resolution, but had not success. Colors and artifacts are still present. Mplayer, VLC , and v4lucp, which uses Mplayer to preview, have no difficulties.

I confirm with 640x480 color look right, higher resolutions show wrong color or image composite

I can also confirm that the image is correct with <= 640x480, but all resolutions above have distorted chroma.
It used to work in Natty.

btw:
I've tried a workaround suggested by "Juan Francisco Contreras García" (juanfcocontreras) in bug-thread #838739 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/cheese/+bug/838739/comments/16), and installed "libv4l" from PPA.
Now all resolutions work fine again.

Latest libv4l-0 package in oneiric (just received the update today) with version 0.8.5-3ubuntu2 fixes the issue. Changelog says it fixes bug 838739 so this bug (888633) is a duplicate of 838739 which is now fixed.
