reciever onskyp can't hear me, however I can here them

I use skype on this software. I can hear the person on the other end, but they can't hear me .. This has been happening for the past month. I have tried removing the program and putting it back on, but that don't work.. before having Ubuntu, I was able to go on the skype tools and fix the volume controls and get it working but, now , with Ubuntu there isn't any way I can get into skype tools and tweak it.. So, I thought I could use the cheese camera, but that didn't work and now I can't even turn off my camera, since I used cheese. Please Help me .. Thank you

Same proble using Linux Mint 11. I can hear, I can see, I can chat, I can do test calls, but people can't hear me.
Other computers in the same workgroup using Ubuntu 10.2 are working fine fine.

Hi, a new skype version 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 is available, could you please try if you still have the bug with the new version?
