counter goes on even if file is paused

Bug Description

listen to a song (mp3, wav, etc...) then hit pause; counter will go on (2 seconds at a time) even if file is paused; counter will never stop even if the end of the song is reached

this problem seems related to pulseaudio-plugin as when using alsa output the problem doesn't occur
