Bug Description

Some times when opening a libreoffice docuement, it does not go to the unity launcher (no icon) and therefore also is not in the alt-tab list so I can't alt-tab to the application.

To reproduce: try opening and closing a openoffice document many times by dubble clicking a docuement in nautilus of from a terminal och make a keyboard shortcut to start it "soffice Document/myspreadsheet.ods"

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

It happens both in unity and unity-2d.

Worked fine in ubuntu 11.04 and it also works fine in kubuntu 11.10 (though kubuntu really does not have the same kind of launcher as unity of course).

affects: ubuntu → libreoffice (Ubuntu)

Removing /usr/bin/libreoffice and instead making it a link to /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin fixes the problem/bug.

Could it be that /usr/bin/libreoffice is started with /bin/sh that also starts /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice wich also is started through /bin/sh ?

affects: unity (Ubuntu) → libreoffice (Ubuntu)

It "seems" to have been fixed in libreoffice 3.4.5 (I got it from their PPA)

No its still there in 3.5.0

What have been changed is that /usr/bin/libreoffice now is a link,
but not to /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin but rather /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice and that still makes the problem be there.

I actually do not experience this any longer in 12.04
Have there maybe been an update in BAMF that fixed this?
