Bug Description

I believe I am seeing GPU lockups when running Unity 3D on Oneiric with the Nouveau driver using a GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. I'm not entirely sure what causes them, but I can usually make them occur by repeatedly minimizing and maximizing windows, showing/hiding the Unity panel, etc. This behavior seems to be new in Oneiric (I was able to run Unity 3D without any major issues under Natty.)

This is my video card:
00:0d.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C61 [GeForce 6150SE nForce 430] (rev a2)

Xorg logs show:
[ 87595.983] [mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop.

Maybe, maybe not. It looks like we have different video hardware.

Scott Talbert, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-nouveau REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.
