Nat, I just reproduced it but could not. Can you please tell what files you tried to upload? Maybe it makes a difference.

Assigning to Nat to see if he can recreate. I think this might have been related to the other problems we were having last week for folders.

This bug is from months ago (2011!), so it has nothing to do with what happened last week. I think multi-upload wasn't working in that release of FF, but we're all the way up to version 13.0.1 and everything seems fine. The only thing that doesn't work now is drag and drop. You used to be able to drag and drop files into the uploader on FF, but now that doesn't work.

Nat commented on this but we forgot to re-open. Balazs, the point here is that the uploaded doesn't work on FF 7.

FF 7 has 0% of the hits for July (123 total hits out of 377,000) so this bug is considered very low priority. In fact, I am assigning back to Nat, to confirm that it is worth OSF budget to continue supporting such an old browser.

Nat, your point about drag and drop...is it failing in all browsers, or just FF 7?

The drag and drop is failing on both FF and Chrome. Drag and drop never worked on IE, so we don't have to worry about that.

I tested it with current version on ux2, and it appears that drag-and-drop works well on FF 7.0. I tested FF 7.0.1 on MacOSX.

Here I documented how it worked:

If it still fails for you please let's try to find the difference between my test run and your test run. If I can reproduce the problem I can do further steps to fix, but currently I don't seem to have a problem with this FF version either.

I have figured about what the problem is here. You are dragging a file from the desk top, while I was trying to drag a file from the dialog box that opens when you click on the Multi Upload button (see screenshot). Drag and drop doesn't work if you try to drag from the File Upload dialog box. Most users don't know to not use the dialog box if they want to drag and drop files. Is it possible to enable drag and drop directly from the dialog box?

Unfortunately that's a Windows-ism (and the same for Mac.) Filepicker dialogs are not, AFAIK, draggable.

Not only that, but this part in the Flash-based uploader widget is in Flash, not our thing. So we can't even tinker with it.
