Missing function: gsl_multifit_wlinear

Trying to install a software package depending heavily on GSL, I get a build error complaining that this function is missing.
Building the same software works fine in 10.04 and in a fairly recent Debian Unstable.
I guess Ubuntu is using a custom packaging of GSL?
