Window disapears when minimized

release: Ubuntu 11.10

This seems to happen somewhat randomly. I minimize a window then I am unable to get back to it with the unity ?taskbar?. In essence it disappears. This has also happened with non-minimized windows which I can get to by getting the other windows out of the way by either minimizing or sending back.

I expectedI have not been able to reproduce it. It has happened with gedit and libre office writer if that helps.
I expected it to be accessible from the taskbar and have min/max/close buttons. If I clicked the icon it simply brought up a new instance (except for gedit: it opened a new tab) that behaved normal.
