Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Hi Marco,

The printer HP_Color_LaserJet_CP1215 uses PJL status type . These devices are capable of only returning only low ink status. The printer doesn't return any PJL status to determine the exact ink volume information. What that is returned from printer is always high or low and not discrete values of the ink levels.

We are sorry for not able to provide much help on this. As drivers depend on the printer capability to get the information and not on there self intelligence.

Thanks,
Goutam Kodu

Hi Marco,

Sorry for my incomplete analysis on this bug. I lately found that there is a way we can capture the ink volume information from the printer .Will work on it and get back to you on the same.

Moving the bug from won't fix to in-progress.

Thanks,
Goutam Kodu
