Hi,

rkward 0.5.4 is pretty old, already. Since then, a lot has happened. In particular frontend and backend run in separate processes since rkward 0.5.5. This means that a segfault in the backend can be handled much easier, now.

For this reason, I am fairly confident, that this bug has already been fixed in later versions of RKWard, and I'm marking it as fixed.

Consider installing RKWard 0.5.7 from our PPA ( https://launchpad.net/~rkward-devel/+archive/rkward-stable ). Should you be able to reproduce this (or a similar problem) with rkward 0.5.7, please re-open the report.

Regards
Thomas

The command
sudo add-apt-repository https://launchpad.net/~rkward-devel/+archive/rkward-stable

does not do good things.
Update now gives me

W: Failed to fetch https://launchpad.net/~rkward-devel/+archive/rkward-stable/dists/natty/main/binary-amd64/Packages The requested URL returned error: 404

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Hi,

the URL I gave you is for browsing information about the PPA, online, not for feeding to apt.

Remove the previous attempt, then add the PPA like this:
  sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rkward-devel/rkward-stable

Regards
Thomas
