This affects me too, same segmentation fault. If it helps, I've noticed it happens much more often when running on battery power, and it seems to happen more often when actively doing things, like loading several webpages or advancing songs in banshee. I've still had it happen to me when on AC power and when not doing those things, it's just much more common.

Also there are some threads floating around online with others with this issue, and it seems to only affect 64 bit users.

I'm still affected by this bug, despite several software updates. It happens several times a day, compromising the overall OS usability.

@marty I can confirm the bug behaviour: it happens randomly and, seldom, several times consecutively. Do you have a dell, too?

I hope it will be soon assigned to somebody.

Have the same issue on 64-bit. Hp dm4-2165dx.
Like others have already stated, it segfaults with no particular pattern, I could go days without having it happen once, then one day I may have it happen twice a day.

Alessandro Cuttin, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.
